NL Branding

NL Branding helps the government of The Netherlands brand itself to foreign countries. They do this by providing a special logo and style guide that is used to show what The Netherlands has to offer to the world on a sustainable level. For NL Branding I’ve made a carrousel of Instagram posts, in collaboration with a company that focuses on sustainability and reuses plastic waste called Better Future Factory.

The research

The first step of this design process was doing research. NL Branding had their style guide posted on their website, which we researched. Things like the usage of colors, color combinations, and fonts, we collected here. Afterward, we also researched their social media, to give us a general understanding of the type of content their post. Here we also determined the target audience and started planning our idea using the information we had found. We decided to make several cross-media posts and divided the roles. We contacted a local green company, explained our idea, and went there to take pictures.

Sketches

After taking the pictures, I made sketches of my idea. I decided to go for 4 posts and wanted to use text that would match well with the images. After making the sketches I made my posts, and altered the text to ‘ stop wasting start designing, communication is key, in order to make a change, and protect our planet.
